Dr. Sharon Aa-Inir Karbo is a Medical Consultant at AB Hospital, where she provides strategic guidance on the hospital’s design and management strategy.
Her role is pivotal in ensuring the hospital fulfils its commitment to delivering world-class clinical care, while positioning itself as a leading center for innovative and high-quality healthcare in Ghana and across Africa.
A physician and healthcare strategist, Dr. Karbo brings multidisciplinary expertise spanning medicine, public health and healthcare innovation. She has a clinical background in primary care and oncology, complemented by extensive experience in strategic health systems management and sustainable financing.
Dr. Karbo has also worked as a pharmaceutical consultant and advisor to international organizations, development banks and health institutions across Africa, Latin America and the United States. In these roles, she provided high-level strategic counsel on expanding access to quality healthcare services.
Her medical practice is grounded in patient-centered care and the integration of medical technology to enhance health outcomes and wellbeing of communities.
Dr. Karbo completed advanced medical training at Johns Hopkins University, earning dual graduate degrees – a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Dr. Emmanuel Elorm Nortey-Adom, MD, MPH, MBAMBBS
Dr. Emmanuel Elorm Nortey-Adom serves as Medical Consultant and Project Manager at AB Hospital, where he oversees the design of clinical workflows and the integration of biomedical systems with architectural planning.
He plays a key role in shaping the hospital’s long-term growth strategy and fostering cross-functional collaboration among architecture, engineering, biomedical design and finance teams.
He is a physician and healthcare strategist with over a decade of experience in clinical medicine, public health and medical product commercialization across Africa, North America and Europe.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School and built a strong clinical foundation through practice at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge), Euracare Multi-specialist Hospital and Akai House Clinic. These diverse experiences have provided him with a comprehensive understanding of healthcare delivery across both public and private sectors.
Dr. Nortey-Adom holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Johns Hopkins University. His academic specialisations include epidemiology, health policy, health economics, digital health and healthcare innovation, equipping him with a robust skill set for strategic leadership in healthcare. During his time at the Johns Hopkins Health System, he contributed to clinical operations, enterprise transformation and health policy initiatives, strengthening his ability to align care delivery with broader health system strategies.
In addition to his clinical and strategic roles, Dr. Nortey-Adom has consulted for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies, offering specialist advice on patient services, medical affairs, clinical development and commercialization strategy.
